Gujarat Global Summit

andhinagar hosted the resoundingly successful sixth edition
of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit on January 11th and
12th, 2013. Before the 2013 summit, the government carried
out a yearlong promotional campaign with a focus on Business
Networking and displaying Gujarat’s successful Development
Agenda. The focus areas for the 2013 Vibrant Gujarat Global
Summit were Innovation, Sustainability, Youth Development and
Knowledge Sharing and Networking.
On all parameters, VGGS 2013 was bigger and grander than the
previous edition. As compared to the 5th Vibrant Gujarat Summit,
the number of total organized events increased to 127 from 67.
Furthermore, in the focus sectors of Innovation, Knowledge,
Sustainability and Youth Empowerment the number of events
increased to 31 from eight in 2011. The biggest event was the
ICAI Education conference, which witnessed participation by
135 universities. Similarly, the number of speakers increased
three-fold. While 251 speakers were present during the previous
edition, this time there were 840 speakers. The number of foreign
delegates increased from 1400 in 2011 to 2100 in the current
edition. Strategic partnerships in key areas also witnessed a
tremendous rise; there were 2670 Strategic Partnerships in 2013
as compared to 460 in the previous edition. Investment intentions
more than doubled with 17719 investment intentions being
declared during VGGS 2013 as compared to 8380 signed during
the previous edition.
