This year’s Summit, apart from MOUs and investment pledges,
was a fascinating confluence of knowledge and ideas from
around the world, something akin to the riveting confluence of
philosophies and thoughts that our glorious Indian civilization has
seen at its river banks over several centuries. The most critical
contribution of Shri Modi has been to create this conducive
environment, which inspires inflow of some of the best thoughts
and ideas that help the State and the nation. The synergy that
is created as a result provides several ideas that materialize into
opportunities for the people.
As Shri Modi marches on his mantra for Gujarat’s governance –
“Gujarat’s progress for India’s progress”, he has inculcated the
feeling of “my progress for Gujarat’s progress” in his 6 crore
Gujaratis. As each one of them create their own path for growth
and success, they are all inextricably tied to Gujarat’s success,
which, in turn, is tied to the nation’s prosperity. The sense of
being a stakeholder in the Gujarat story – that pride in being an
asset of the State – can perhaps be considered the single biggest
achievement of Shri Modi in his tenure as the Chief Minister.
As a government, he has ensured the creation of an enabling
environment, which assures industries of their investment in
Gujarat. The most vital factor for industries to invest in the State
is the presence of sound, transparent andwell-formulated policies
in each sector. There are no reactive measures – shortcuts or ad
hoc measures – which almost inevitably create diffidence among
investors. The government has been proactive in identifying the
potential Gujarat has and the emerging business situations and
formulating policies for the long-term. If there is a State that
follows the Constitutional precept of subserving common good
in devising policies, it is Shri Modi’s Gujarat.
And the way he goes about doing this is also unique –
something truly and gloriously Indian. Whether it is his ideas
