this for three years will be declared as Pavan Gram. These
villages are also required to have high levels of cleanliness, girls’
education and low school dropout rate. There should not be
any use, sale or production of intoxicants in these villages and
there should be a system of solving social problems through
mutual discussions. Villages selected as Tirth Gam will be paid
cash incentive of rupees one lakh and those selected as Pavan
Gram would get rupees fifty thousand. From 2004-05 to January
2007, a total of 408 villages have been declared as Tirth Gram.
