Tree cover in Rajkot, a largest city in Saurashtra,
is below average. It is the fourth largest city in
term of population and area, but has less tree
cover. Neem is dominant species as a good
number of old trees is found in the city. A total
of 140 species of trees were encountered in the
city and ten most important of them have been
given in Table-19.
