Friends, every institution has its own strength, its own
identity. Today we might have gathered here to give life
a new turn but this will always be a part of our life and
therefore whatever we will achieve, it will be prestigious
for the institution too.
Whatever you have got from your institute, whatever you are
taking with yourself; you will put it into action wherever you
will be working. You will fulfill the technical job assigned
to you. This is not the only thing this institution has given
you. When you will enter that new environment the whole
institution will observe the way you behave and perform.
Let me share the ringing words of the greatAmerican essayist
Ralph Waldo Emerson who brought out the true meaning of
education:
”We are shut up in schools and college recitation rooms
for ten or fifteen years, and come out at last with a bellyful
of words and do not know a thing. The things taught in
schools and colleges are not an education, but the means of
education.”
Friends, we don’t want to make robots in universities; we
want to create humans. We can’t shape a world with the help
of robots made out of technical know-how.We can’t be useful
to humankind if there are no sentiments in life, no matter
how good we are at technology and knowledge.
