Gujarat’s one-day governance model shows the way
 
Under the leadership of Shri Narendra Modi, Gujarat brought the model of ‘One Day Governance’ in 2003 to deliver key services like essential certificates, affidavits, land, civil supplies to its citizens in the duration of a single day. The total number of beneficiaries of “One Day Governance” in Gujarat is more than 60 lakh people, most of them belonging to poor families.

Samaras Gram Yojana: Fostering Consensus and Self-Governance in Villages
 
Mahatma Gandhi was a strong believer of the importance of local self-government and believed that every village must be strongly empowered to deal with local issues. Today, Gujarat is taking concrete steps towards fulfilling Bapu’s dream by making local self-government more effective through Samras Gram Yojana.

‘Chalo Taluke’ Campaign: a new model for taluka development
 
In the year 2011, Shri Narendra Modi first envisioned to infuse a new vigor to the decentralized administrative mechanism with the ‘Chalo Taluke’ campaign. The campaign was instrumental in taking the benefits of growth to the village level realizing the mantra of ‘Sauno Sath, Sauno Vikas’ (Cooperation from all, growth for all)

‘ATVT – Apno Taluko, Vibrant Taluko’ – Decentralizing powers for Maximum Governance
 
As Gujarat turned 51 in 2011, Shri Narendra Modi launched Apno Taluko, Vibrant Taluko(ATVT) in order to empower people locally to guide the growth process through Taluka Sarkar – a sub district citizen-centric approach where governance and development is activated at the grass root level. At 51 talukas at a go, the Vibrant Taluko (ATVT) centres were launched!

Empowering local governance through the creation of 7 new districts and 22 new Talukas
 
At a Cabinet meeting chaired by Shri Narendra Modi in January 2013, the Cabinet approved the creation of 7 new Districts and 22 new Talukas. The creation of new administrative units is a fresh example of Gujarat’s positive and proactive governance model. Moreover, it can be seen as an extension of the Chief Minister’s efforts to promote local self-government institutions.
