Under the leadership of Shri Narendra Modi, Gujarat brought the model of ‘One Day Governance’ in 2003 to deliver key services like essential certificates, affidavits, land, civil supplies to its citizens in the duration of a single day. The total number of beneficiaries of “One Day Governance” in Gujarat is more than 60 lakh people, most of them belonging to poor families.

As Gujarat turned 51 in 2011, Shri Narendra Modi launched Apno Taluko, Vibrant Taluko(ATVT) in order to empower people locally to guide the growth process through Taluka Sarkar – a sub district citizen-centric approach where governance and development is activated at the grass root level.
